Michael R. Ruvolis,

69, of Allentown passed away suddenly Monday, May 2, 2022 at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem after being stricken at home.

Born in Easton, he was the son of the late Charles and Pearl (Deremer) Ruvolis. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1970 before being drafted by the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged due to his beloved brother, Edward “Skip” Ruvolis, being killed in Vietnam. For 47 years he was

married to Kathryn (Kohler) Ruvolis and created a beautiful family of three daughters, Jessica Ortiz (Elliot, Beckett & Elloise), Michaelina Ruvolis (Makaila & Juliette), and Victoria Ruvolis. He was loved by a large extended family. At the time of his death, he was retired but worked for 45 years as

a machinist and toolmaker. First and foremost was his family. Cherishing the family gatherings for a celebration or just an impromptu visit. Since retirement, he experienced daily life with babies loving every second of being with his grandchildren. Telling them how much he loved them was a daily ritual and the feelings were mutual. He had a broad spectrum of interests. From loving the wild, free feeling of the open road on a motorcycle, to playing sports well into his 40's, transitioned to volunteer coaching. He climbed the levels of coaching from youth league and CYO to AAU basketball and drills and skills, eventually to middle school football and high school girls basketball. He used his fiery personality to challenge others to reach their fullest potential. He took every opportunity to see his daughters, grandkids, nieces and nephews sporting events. Over his lifetime he was in leagues for darts, pool, bowling, quoits, softball, and flag football, wanting to experience everything. Needless to say, he loved life. Visitation with his family will be 5:00 to 8:00 pm Friday May 13, 2022 in the Gilbert Funeral Home, 444 Pershing Blvd. Whitehall, PA 18052, located 1 block south of the Fullerton Ave. exit of Route 22. A brunch celebrating Michael's life will be Saturday May 14, 2022 from 9:00 to 11:30 am at

the Palmer Township Fire Company, 950 South 27th Street, Easton, PA 18045. Interment will follow at Noon in South Easton Cemetery.
