Neil Chester Vipond, 92, of Toronto, Ontario Canada died July 15th, 2022. Neil Vipond, son of William Chester Vipond and Ellen (Boyd) Vipond, passed away on July 15th at his home in Quakertown, PA. He is survived by his two sons, Mathew and James, their spouses Larry McCalliste­r and Tamara Vipond, two grandchild­ren, ex-wives Aime Vipond and Kathleen Grace, brother Gary and his wife Pat and numerous cousins. Neil was an actor for almost 70 years, starting his career at the Stratford Festival with Tyrone Guthrie in the 1950’s and emigrating to New York City where he acted on and off-Broadway, including playing Hamlet at Equity Library Theatre in 1959, at regional theatres throughout the US and Canada, eventually settling in Los Angeles in late career to act in television and film. His credits include the New Avengers, Phobia (directed by John Huston), L.A. Law, Mad About You, Frasier,

Deep Space Nine, Medium and a recurring role on Will & Grace as Julius, the accompanis­t to Grace’s mom, played by Debbie Reynolds. Neil loved nature, swimming and fitness--working out at the YMCA less than three weeks before his passing--art and collecting, Ingrid Bergman, Fredric March, Greta Garbo, Fred Astaire, the dancing of Vaslav Nijinsky and Isadora Duncan and the stagecraft of Edward Gordon Craig. He will be missed by all who knew him. His ashes will be scattered, according to his wishes, on the Humber River near his childhood home in Toronto.
