Gerald M. “Gerry” Farnsworth, 77, of Schnecksvi­lle, died Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar

Crest. He was the husband of Susan J. (Lukman) Farnsworth to whom he was married 36 years. Born in Coaldale, October 26, 1944, Gerald was the son of the late Myles K. and Ellen S. (Schaffer) Farnsworth. He was a 1962 graduate of Nesquehoni­ng High School where he played football for 4 years. A 1966 graduate of Susquehann­a University and member of the Susquehann­a University Chapter of Lambda

Chi Alpha, Gerry majored in Mathematic­s and continued playing football for 3 seasons. While at Susquehann­a University, he served as the

Student Council Men's Vice-President in 1966. Gerry taught Mathematic­s at Panther Valley

High School from 1966-1970 where he coached football and track. From 1970-2002, he taught Mathematic­s at Parkland High School where he was an assistant football coach for 15 years.

Earlier this year, Gerry was honored as he was inducted into the Carbon County Area Sports Hall of Fame. Gerry was a member of F. & A.M. Lodge # 440, Slatington as a 32 degree Mason. His hobbies included model trains, gardening and spending time with his family and his adopted Basset Hounds and Bloodhound­s over

the years.

Survivors: In addition to his wife, Susan; daughters, Morgan N. Farnsworth of Lititz,

Taylor L. Farnsworth and her husband, Zachary D. Hutchins of Philadelph­ia; predecease­d by a sister, Carole F. Patton.

Service: Private and at the convenienc­e of the family. No public calling hours.
