Jeffrey L. Snyder
A resident of
Whitehall Township, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2022 at 9:40 am. Jeffrey Lynn Snyder was born in Allentown Pennsylvania to
Edwin and Frances (Warmkessel) Snyder. He graduated from William Allen High school in 1964, and shortly after joined the United States Marine Corps in
1965 and fought for our country in Vietnam. Jeffrey was married to the late Shirley A. (Yost) Snyder for 29 years starting in 1983, and had a beautiful baby girl in 1985 while still serving in the military. After a long battle, he retired in 1999 as a Master Sergeant. He served for 26 years in active duty and 8 years in the reserves. After coming home, Jeff worked for the United States Postal Service along with working for the Whitehall-Coplay School District. Not long after his retirement, his dear wife Shirley passed away in 2012 from Breast Cancer. He always cared and provided for his family which he loved dearly. Jeffrey enjoyed golfing, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and playing with his grandchildren. Even after the military, he fought a very long and hard battle. Every single day he persevered and changed lives. After 76 years, his battle finally ended. He is survived by daughter Megan L. Holinka with husband Eric M. Holinka; Pappy to Alexis L. Krasley, Dominic J. Holinka, and Joshua R. Holinka; sisters Carol Hoffman with husband Carl, Beverly Crist with husband Cliff, Deborah Porter with husband Gary; nieces Mary-Beth Welsh with husband John, Jill Makovsky with
husband Jerry, Tracy Murphy with husband
Sean, Lori Richards with husband Ken; nephews Bryan Crist with wife Corinne, Reece Hoffman,
and David Diehl; along with 14 great nieces, nephews and a very large extended family. Graveside services will be held on Saturday August 27, 2022 at 10:00 am in the Mausoleum Chapel of Cedar Hill Memorial Park 1700
Airport Road, Allentown, PA 18109. There will be no calling hours. Military honors will be presented by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post
