Glenn R. Shafer

Glenn Richard Shafer, 74 of Allentown, passed away Wednesday, August

31, 2022, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Allentown the pride and joy his parents Norine N. (Numbers) Shafer of Allentown and the late Richard C. Schafer. After attending elementary school in Allentown Glenn went on to the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in Philadelphia, graduating in 1968. He then attended Lehigh Community College and Bloomsburg College for special classes. Glenn started working at Saucony

Shoe Manufacturing in Macungie for several years, then to Weis Market in Emmaus. Each time getting his jobs by himself. In 1985 his family became snowbirds with residence in Stuart, FL. Fishing was always a great pastime for Glenn and his dad, both in PA and FL. In addition, Glenn has always enjoyed riding his “three-wheeler” bike. In 2010 his family moved into Independent Living at Luther Crest. Glenn has always been active. For 10 years he was a volunteer at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, enjoyed swimming, fishing, bike riding and spending

time on the computer following the stock market! He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus. Glenn was happiest riding his bike and spending time talking with his friends and neighbors.

Survivors: Mother and many cousins.

Services: Gravesite services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 9th in the Greenwood Cemetery 2010 Chew Street, Allentown.
