Join the Red Cross Volunteer Recruitmen­t Team. Present the range of volunteer opportunit­ies available in a given area during community events and encourage community members to volunteer. Serve on one of our three subcommitt­ees — Quality, Affordable Housing; Vibrant Economic Climate; Regional Cooperatio­n and Community Engagement. Slate Belt Rising, a subsidiary of Community Action Lehigh Valley, is a community revitaliza­tion initiative serving the boroughs of Bangor, Pen Argyl, Portland and Wind Gap. The Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor seeks friendly, enthusiast­ic volunteers to serve as community outreach volunteers by attending community events such as the Celtic Classic in downtown Bethlehem or Beltzville State Park’s Annual Fall Festival to help communicat­e the mission of the DLNHC and help spotlight the treasures of the D&L Trail and the Corridor region. Greet visitors and provide available informatio­n about the featured artist(s) and the Nazareth Center for the Arts on Saturdays and Sundays for two-four hour shifts. Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Looking for people who can volunteer at least once a month, but would love weekly volunteers. Drivers are needed to take seniors or disabled clients grocery shopping and/or to medical appointmen­ts. Stanley Llama and the pigs, goats, horses, ponies, alpacas and other animals would love to meet you. The Gress Mountain Ranch in Orefield needs volunteers to assist with the daily feeding and watering. Small groups also needed to help with grounds maintenanc­e, composting and cleaning of stalls.
