NCC offers recovery specialist courses

Northampton Community College will offer a certified recovery specialist and certified family recovery specialist course from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept. 13-Dec. 8 at the Fowler Family Southside Center, 511 E. Third St., Bethlehem.

The CRS and CFRS credential is for individuals in recovery from substance use disorder or family members of people suffering from substance use disorder who wish to help others move into and through the recovery process as peer support. Completion of this course will facilitate the student toward Pennsylvania state certification as a certified recovery specialist or a certified family recovery specialist. Understanding the requirements of certification along with the role of the recovery specialist in practice is critical before committing to training.
