Free shredding event coming up
Rep. Ryan Mackenzie, R-Berks/ Lehigh, will co-host a public paper shredder event 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 1 in the parking lot of the Lower Macungie Township Complex, 3400 Brookside Road.
Residents may bring up to four boxes of paperwork, the approximate size of carry-on luggage, per vehicle for shredding. There is no need to remove staples or paper clips, but documents should be taken out of binders and notebooks. Attendees are asked to remain in their vehicles while staff and volunteers unload the documents to be shredded.
Because this event is meant for documents containing sensitive, identifying information, it is requested that residents not bring items which do not fit this description as these can be thrown out or recycled at home. This event is for residents only — businesses are kindly asked to dispose of their sensitive documents on their own. Due to the popularity of these events, no boxes will be accepted prior to the start time.
For information on the event, call Mackenzie’s office at 610-9659933.
