Sweet Arrow Lake programs
Sweet Arrow Lake County Park clubhouse, 108 Clubhouse Road, Pine Grove, will offer the following programs:
Volcanoes and Earthquakes: 3—4 p.m. Oct. 1. Jeri Jones and Brittany Martin will present an interactive program about why we have volcanoes erupting in certain regions around the world and what is the importance of having these dramatic mountains. They will also discuss where earthquakes occur, how they are recorded and the dangers involved. All participants will erupt several types of volcanoes and make earthquakes. This program is designed for children. Meet at the Waterfall Pavilion.
Astronomy Night: 7:15—9 p.m. Oct. 1. Jeri Jones and Brittany Martin will present an evening under the stars. Participants will view the moon, Jupiter and Saturn along with some of the summer favorite galaxies, star clusters and nebulae through telescopes. We will also identify constellations and attempt to spot satellites. If weather does not permit viewing, there will be a PowerPoint presentation in the pavilion. Meet at the Waterfall Pavilion.
Fall ‘n Leaf Hike: 10-11 a.m. Oct. 8. Join “Porcupine Pat” at the Waterfall Pavilion for a fall hike. Nature’s engine turns again and a new season is in place. Let’s hike to enjoy the colorful scenes of fall.
