Welcoming people should not be controversial

Regarding the “You Belong. You Matter” campaign in Nazareth (The Morning Call,

Sept. 9). What has this community and this country become when a sign welcoming all is controversial? When does threatening a store owner who displays this sign to welcome all become acceptable?

Sheltering children from the mosaic of this world is not a positive sign of good parenting. Hovering over your children to control everything they see and do is not good parenting nor is censoring the books they read. Just remember that when they leave. the nest, they will be exposed to the whole beauty of the world and its inhabitants. You belong and you matter.
