Iris M. LaFord

Iris M. LaFord resident of Lopatcong, NJ passed away on Tuesday, September

13, 2022.

Born in Fort

Monmouth NJ, to

Army Master Sergeant Kenneth Fava, and wife Inge, she experienced the world at a young age, as she lived in both Germany and Turkey then returned to the United States where she lived

with her family at Fort Bragg, NC and then Fort Carson, CO before

settling in North Bergen, NJ.

She married her loving husband Louis E. LaFord in 1977 and resided in Union City, NJ where she worked for the Church of Saint Michael.

She became a loving mother to three sons and dedicated her time to them as a Den Leader and eventually a Scout Master in several Scout Troops. She was also involved in the Union City Rescue Squad Women’s Auxiliary, Delaware

Park Chemical Engine Company #1 Women’s Auxiliary, and a volunteer with the Lopatcong Emergency Squad. She loved cooking, bowling, and watching classic movies.

She is survived by her loving husband Louis LaFord Sr.; sons Louis LaFord Jr. (wife, Kelly), Shane LaFord (wife, Lauren), Andrew LaFord (wife, Renee); adored grandchildren Trent and Braelyn; sister, Gabriele Kennedy-Abel; and sister-in-law, Lisa LaFord-Rovan (husband, Bruce). In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Carrie LaFord.

Iris will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A memorial gathering will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are being
