Margaret Sovecka

Margaret (Margie) Sovecka 98, of Slidell, LA, formerly of Allentown, PA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sept. 11, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Dementia. She resided at her home in the Summerfield Retirement

Community where she was a resident for the past 7 years. Born in Allentown on Sept. 15, 1923, she was wife of the late Peter Sovecka and daughter of

the late Stephen John and Anna Marie (Gorza) Yaindl. After graduation from Allentown High School, she was employed as a sewing machine operator, and later, floor lady with Penn State Garment Mills until her retirement. While residing at Summerfield she made numerous friends and enjoyed the many socializing events offered, especially playing Bingo, and as a highlight, was also elected participation as a Mardi Gras Court Maid during one of their yearly celebrations.

Survivors: Daughters Linda Rajki and husband Ron of Slidell, LA and Elizabeth Pettis and husband Michael Slimak of Wake Forest, NC, five grandchildren: Sean Reagan, Michelle Rajki Jacobson, Brian Pettis, Kevin Pettis, and Lorie Pettis Riehs, nine great-grandchildren, sisterin-law Gloria Yaindl, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services: Cathedral of St. Catherine of Siena, Allentown: Saturday. Sept. 24th. Church Viewing 9:00 -10 AM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial. Interment immediately following church services at Resurrection Cemetery, Wescosville, Pa. Arrangements made by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Allentown.
