Consumers have power to fight inflation
As a consumer you hold the power to aid in the fight against inflation. The weapon is every item you purchase.
It’s simple: You probably know the price of every item you purchased in the supermarket or small store in the last two years. If an item has been raised more than 20% in that time, stop buying it. If an item has been reduced in size significantly and they have raised the price dramatically, stop buying or look for a substitute.
It may not be exact, but your switching will put pressure on the giant corporations to lower prices. Be patient. It will not happen overnight, but it will happen if you stick to a powerful weapon: your buying power.
I have not bought a branded soft drink in a year. Are the alternatives exactly the same? No, but it is amazing how one quickly adjusts. I can tell you one thing: The shelves of the brands are never empty
