Eugene Grant Parks

Jr, 89, of Allentown, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022. He was the husband of the late Barbara (Sweeney) Parks, who passed away in 2006 after celebratin­g 50 years of marriage.

Born in Allentown, Gene was the son of the late Beatrice (Neiser) & Eugene Parks Sr. He attended Allentown High

School (Class of '51), and proudly served his

country in the US Army Security Agency. Gene attended Penn State on the GI Bill and went to work as an Electrical Engineer for Bell Labs where he spent his entire career, retiring in

1995 after 37 years of service. While at Bell

Labs, he was a leader in the developmen­t of several Integrated Circuit product lines, and

progressed steadily up through various technical and management positions - he was proud of his career achievemen­ts.

Following retirement, Gene was no less busy as he took on various family and community projects, always with his signature focus on

planning and attention to detail. Recently, he was involved with Lehigh Valley Active Life and served on their Board of Directors, and volunteere­d to lead local efforts for the AARP TaxAide tax return assistance program for seniors.

Gene was a dedicated family man, and his impact and memory will live on long beyond his passing. He will be sorely missed by family, friends, and colleagues.

Survivors: daughter Robyn Williams, of Whitehall, wife of the late Richard Williams; son Michael Parks and wife Debra, of Maine; son Steven Parks and wife Catherine, of Mertztown; five grandchild­ren, seven great-grandchild­ren; sister Judith Ann Miller, wife of Floyd Ross, of Hellertown. In addition to his wife and parents, Gene was predecease­d by a brother, Barry

Parks, husband of Mary Lou, of Carlisle.

Private services to be arranged at the discretion of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gene's name to Animals in Distress.
