Elk on the loose in Northampton County; police warn not to approach
An elk was on the loose Saturday morning in Lehigh Township.
The elk made its escape after wind knocked down a tree that damaged the owner’s fence, according to a Facebook post by township police overnight.
The elk was last seen in the area of Mountain View Drive and Timberline Road, according to the post.
Anyone who spots the elk should not approach it, police warn. Instead they are asked to call Lehigh Township police at 610-317-0808.
