LEHIGH VALLEY FLASHBACK

- By Morning Call Staff

A look back at Lehigh Valley sports stories over the years from Sept. 4.

2004: Tim Frisby, a 39-yearold Dieruff grad and retired Army veteran who played football at Central Catholic, makes his college debut when he lines up at wide receiver for the last four plays of South Carolina’s 17-7 win over Troy State, two days after receiving edibility clearance from the NCAA. Frisby — a 20-year Army veteran who enrolled at South Carolina after his retirement — earned a spot on the squad as a walk-on and also gets on the field later in the season against Clemson.

1999: Bethlehem Catholic gives up two fourth-quarter touchdowns and falls to national power Cleveland St. Ignatius 23-18 before a crowd of 6,500 at BASD Stadium, the Golden Hawks’ first loss of the season.
