Smell of hypocrisy coming from Florida

-

Why is it that natural disasters somehow bring out blatant hypocrisy in certain people? It’s interesting that the “Let’s Go Brandon” crowd in Florida is now pleading for help from President Biden in the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Ian. Are these folks, who have their hand out for federal aid, the same ones who fly vulgar flags and call the president “Sleepy Joe” and illegitimate? Joe Biden is suddenly worthy and legitimate when one is in dire straits, right?

Mocking and degrading a man while begging for his help is the epitome of hypocrisy. However, Joe will come through because he’s a decent human being. No adulation needed.

In 2013, then Congressman Ron DeSantis, voted against providing a federal aid package to the victims of Hurricane Sandy in New York and New Jersey.

Now, as Florida’s governor, DeSantis is asking President Biden to provide federal aid to the victims of Hurricane Ian in his state. DeSantis is OK with big government when it’s to his benefit.

All victims of a devastating weather event deserve aid, not just one’s voting base. As the cleanup begins, the stench of flagrant hypocrisy exudes from the Floridian air. Debra Lembach
