Diana Lee Sawruk, 84, formerly of Bethlehem, PA passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022, while staying with friends in Auburn, AL.

She was born October 20, 1937, in Herndon, PA, the daughter of Dr. Thomas Randall Moon (19051966) and Mildred Catharine (Batdorf) Moon (1911-2010). She married Theodore Sawruk (1934-2012) of Bethlehem, PA on November 7, 1959, who after 53 years of marriage proceeded her in death. He was a pharmacist for the former Thrift Drugs Co. in the Lehigh Valley. Diana lived most of her adult life in Bethlehem. She graduated from Temple University in Philadelph­ia and received a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Later, she received her nursing RA from Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA.

She worked the majority of her life as a private duty nurse or with various nursing facilities throughout the Lehigh Valley. After retiring, Diana enjoyed many years caring for her grandchild­ren, while residing with her daughter in Auburn, AL and Memphis, TN.

In addition to her parents and husband, Diana is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; three sister-in-laws, and five brother-in-laws. She is survived by one son, Dr. Theodore

Randall Sawruk of Middletown, CT; and a daughter, Donna Marie (Sawruk) Golden, of

Port Charlotte, Fl.; and her three grandchild­ren, Krista Marie and Danielle Lee Golden, and James Randal O'Grady; her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Jamie Moon of Elizabethv­ille, PA; and two sisters, Doris (Moon) Metcalf of Kenosha, WI and Sandra (Moon, McKee) Schwalm of Langhorne, PA; and one sister-in-law, Sherry L. Moon of Waterville, OH. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM Friday, October 14, 2022, at Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, Pa. Parastas will begin at 7PM. On Saturday, October

15, 2022, there will be a short viewing from

8:00- 9:15 AM at the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10:00 AM at St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1826 Kenmore Ave., Bethlehem, PA, with Father Edward Higgans officiatin­g. Burial will follow at the St. Josaphat's

Cemetery on Easton Rd. (near Hellertown), Northampto­n County.

Diana and Theodore Sawruk were long time and active members of the St Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributi­ons be made, in Diana's memory, to St. Joshaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church.
