Douglas G. Ringholm
Douglas G. Ringholm, 76, of Allentown, died on October 12, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital surrounded by family. He was the loving husband and soulmate of Pamela M. (Meredith)
for 55 years in July. Born on November 4, 1945 in Rochester, NY, he was the eldest son of the late Howard and Barbara (Gay) Ringholm.
He earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan. A brilliant engineer, his career included over 20 years as a hydraulics
engineer at Bethlehem Steel, followed by several years at Kvaerner in Charlotte, NC, and concluding with 17 years at Bosch Rexroth.
Former co-workers continued to consult him for his expertise up until a few months before his passing.
He was a devoted father and grandfather, always their number one fan and supporter. He spent
countless hours coaching baseball, softball, basketball, and even kickball for the W.E.Y.C. When he wasn't at one of his grandchildren's activities, you could most likely find him
tinkering in his garage, yard, or basement. Up until recently he could also be found on the softball diamond. He played fastpitch softball for Dubbs 1st Presbyterian for many years, and the over 60 league slow-pitch softball in recent years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Eric C. Ringholm (Jenny) of Allentown, Meredith L. McGarr (John) of Coplay, and Michael J. Ringholm (Lisa) of Coplay; grandchildren Mikayla, Emily, Colin, and Olivia; sisters Nanci Bohne, Cynthia Alvarez, and Sally Ringholm. He was predeceased by brother John Ringholm.
