Ernest A. Unangst,

Jr., 60, of Alburtis, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. Ernest and his wife, Michelle L. (Gross), celebrated 10 years of marriage on November 8th. Born August 21, 1962, in Allentown, he was a son of the late Ernest A. Unangst, Sr. and the late Nancy (Reppert) Stubits and stepson of Joseph Stubits. Ernest honorably served his country and made it his life career with the U.S. Army as a sergeant first class. He enlisted in 1983 with the 82nd Airborne Division, 1/504A; then went on to the 307th Engineers thru the 1990's. He then made his way to recruiting with the USAREC Harrisburg Battalion and recruited here in the area for nearly ten years. He finished his 30 years of service back with the 463rd Battalion, 336 Engineers out of Parkersbur­g, WV, and retired in 2013 with an honorable discharge. He was a member of Alburtis Rod & Gun Club, Nimrods Fish & Game, Alburtis Fire Dept., and the VFW Post 2124. A., III and wife, Kalinda, and Joshua; daughter, Darlene Wahl and husband, Zachery; stepson, Craig Meck; stepdaught­er, Caitlyn Denora and husband, Michael; 15 grandchild­ren; brother, Dennis and wife, Sandra; and aunt, Joanne Yankowy and fiancé, Edward Weiland. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 19th at 10:30 a.m. in Queenship of Mary Church, 1324 Newport Ave., Northampto­n. Family and friends may gather Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

in the Reichel Funeral Home, 326 E. 21st St., Northampto­n. Interment will follow with military honors in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Northampto­n.
