Richard “Dick” Kurtz, 80, of Whitehall, PA passed away in the arms of his wife Judy on October

20, 2022, after a six year struggle with Vascular Dementia.

He was born in Allentown on August 8, 1942 and graduated from WAHS in 1960. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1960-1963 as a Fire Control Tech Class “A” on the USS Pratt. Following an honorable discharge, he began his 40 year career at Mack Trucks as an electricia­n, retiring in 2011. Dick enjoyed life,

whether it was coaching his sons in baseball, basketball, and football, playing cards, horseshoes, billiards, swimming and being with friends. But above all, one of his favorite things was talking to anyone who would listen. He was an active member of the UAW retirees. Dick and his wife Judy traveled extensivel­y, visiting 48 states and 41 countries, many of the trips included friends and family. One of his favorite destinatio­ns was Walt Disney World with his sons and their families. Dick is survived by his devoted wife, Judith, with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage this past August; sons Timothy (wife Michelle) of Allentown; Matthew (wife Karen) of Fairfax, VA; grandsons Andrew (wife Kayla); Jeffrey (wife Janelle); Alexander and Anderson and great grandchild­ren Rowan and Emma, and many friends. He was predecease­d by his parents Dorothy & Rudolph Kurtz and brother Thomas of Allentown.

A time to pay respects will be held 9:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, October 29, at Stephens Funeral Home, 374 N. Krocks Rd., Allentown, PA.

A private Celebratio­n of Life will be held at the convenienc­e of the family at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can made to the American Dementia Society.
