Phyllis F. (Fetzer) Handwerk, 80, of North Whitehall Township, died Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of Allen W. Handwerk with whom she celebrated their 48th anniversar­y this year. Born in Allentown, August 3, 1942, Phyllis was the daughter of the late George Y. and Estelle (Wasnak) Fetzer. She was a graduate of Allentown High School, East Stroudsbur­g State College where she earned a BS Degree in Elementary Education, and Lehigh University where she earned a Masters Degree in Reading Education. Phyllis was a teacher in the Allentown School District for 35 years before retiring in 1999. She enjoyed having lunch with her Washington Elementary retirees. Phyllis was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Whitehall where she served on numerous committees. She was an active member of Alpha Delta Kappa an honorary sorority for women educators.

Survivors: In addition to her husband Allen, she is survived by her sister, Janet F. (Robert) Holley of Summervill­e, SC, by one nephew, two nieces, one great nephew, and two great nieces. Service: A Celebratio­n of Life service will be held 11:00 am. Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main Street, Whitehall with the Rev. James W. Schlegel officiatin­g. No calling hour. Private interment at Egypt Cemetery, Whitehall. The Heintzelma­n Funeral Home, Inc., Schnecksvi­lle is in charge of arrangemen­ts.
