NCC offers investigative report, warrant application course

The Northeast Forensic Training Center at Northampton Community College will offer an “Investigative Report Writing & Search Warrant Application” training course 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 22 at the Fowler Family Southside Center, 511 E. Third St., Bethlehem.

Investigative report writing is an extremely critical aspect of a complete and thorough investigation. Regardless of a first responder’s role, these skills transcend all positions. Many successful investigations have relied on lesser-event incident reports. At the same time, many investigations have been drawn out due to the failure of competent incident report preparation. A properly prepared, thorough and complete report can make the difference in bringing an investigation to a successful resolution. This course will break down the aspects of a good investigative report, search warrant application and criminal complaint with several practical exercises to develop proper writing skills and capabilities.
