Allentown City Council denies funding to IronPigs

In a surprise move, Allentown City Council narrowly voted Wednesday night to deny American Rescue Plan funding to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs for renovations to Coca-Cola Park. Team officials said they were disappointed by the vote, but pledged Thursday to make CocaCola Park “home for decades and generations to come.”

What’s next? The IronPigs say they will complete the renovations to meet Major League Baseball[‘s deadline.
