The Morning Call (Sunday)

Why is calling a doctor so difficult?

-

Most people will agree this world is getting crazier, and how do you stop it? I have spent hours on the phone this week trying to call doctors offices to make an appointment. Being told there was a 52-minute wait, or 32 minutes, etc. Then when you do get someone to answer, there are so many prompts only to be told “I didn’t get that” over and over. Or, if a message is left, they talk so fast you don’t get it. It is so frustrating. I find myself getting crazier, screaming into the phone or cursing and swearing like a drunken sailor. At my age, it should be easier and peaceful. I guess I’ve been put on hold: “You have a 60-minute wait.”
