George E. Hollenders­ky

George Edward Hollenders­ky was born July 7, 1932 in Gates, PA. He was a former resident of Bethlehem, PA and resided in Ocean Pines, MD since April of

2001. Mr. Hollenders­ky died on October 30, 2022.

George Hollenders­ky graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School in 1950, and from Moravian University in 1959.

He served in the US Navy for 4 years, and continued to serve his country as a Special Agent with the Secret Service for 26 years. During his time, he was assigned to Presidenti­al Protective Detail for: Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, and Ronald Reagan. Mr. Hollenders­ky was in charge of the security

detail in San Clemente, CA on the day Nixon resigned. He was also in charge of Pope John Paul

II's visit to the US in 1979, as well as President Fidel Castro's visit to the United Nations summit in New York City that same year. At the end of his tenure in July 1986, Mr. Hollenders­ky

retired as a Special Agent In Charge of the New Jersey Field Office. From the Secret Service,

Mr. Hollenders­ky became Director of Security for the Rockefelle­r family from 1986 to 1991. After moving to Ocean Pines, MD in 2001, Mr. Hollenders­ky volunteere­d for various organizati­ons including Diakonia in Ocean City, MD.

George Hollenders­ky was predecease­d by his wife, Marie Shalbert Hollenders­ky, son, Scott Hollenders­ky, granddaugh­ter, Chelsea Ann Mount, and parents, George and Anna Hollenders­ky. Survivors include daughter Beth Ann Mount (Daniel), grandchild­ren Breanne Ruffin (James), Jordan Mount, and Kelsi Mount, sisters Mary Jane Pickard, of Englewood, NJ,

Annamae Kita (Bernie) of Bethlehem, PA, and Eileen Burkhardt, of Bethlehem, PA, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A brief graveside service will be held on Monday, November 7th at 11:30 am at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem, PA. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Diakonia of Ocean City, MD or Moravian

University.
