George E. Hollendersky
George Edward Hollendersky was born July 7, 1932 in Gates, PA. He was a former resident of Bethlehem, PA and resided in Ocean Pines, MD since April of
2001. Mr. Hollendersky died on October 30, 2022.
George Hollendersky graduated from Allentown Central Catholic High School in 1950, and from Moravian University in 1959.
He served in the US Navy for 4 years, and continued to serve his country as a Special Agent with the Secret Service for 26 years. During his time, he was assigned to Presidential Protective Detail for: Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, and Ronald Reagan. Mr. Hollendersky was in charge of the security
detail in San Clemente, CA on the day Nixon resigned. He was also in charge of Pope John Paul
II's visit to the US in 1979, as well as President Fidel Castro's visit to the United Nations summit in New York City that same year. At the end of his tenure in July 1986, Mr. Hollendersky
retired as a Special Agent In Charge of the New Jersey Field Office. From the Secret Service,
Mr. Hollendersky became Director of Security for the Rockefeller family from 1986 to 1991. After moving to Ocean Pines, MD in 2001, Mr. Hollendersky volunteered for various organizations including Diakonia in Ocean City, MD.
George Hollendersky was predeceased by his wife, Marie Shalbert Hollendersky, son, Scott Hollendersky, granddaughter, Chelsea Ann Mount, and parents, George and Anna Hollendersky. Survivors include daughter Beth Ann Mount (Daniel), grandchildren Breanne Ruffin (James), Jordan Mount, and Kelsi Mount, sisters Mary Jane Pickard, of Englewood, NJ,
Annamae Kita (Bernie) of Bethlehem, PA, and Eileen Burkhardt, of Bethlehem, PA, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A brief graveside service will be held on Monday, November 7th at 11:30 am at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem, PA. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Diakonia of Ocean City, MD or Moravian
University.
