Elissa Langaunet

Fisher passed away peacefully on Friday, November 4th at Cedarbrook Senior Care at the age of

86. Born July 15, 1936 in McKeesport, PA to Ethel Florence Henderson and Joseph Conrad Langaunet, Elissa was an only child and raised through the early years of her life in suburban Pittsburgh. She was a graduate of Gettysburg College and Temple University. She married her late husband, Rev. James Fisher in 1956 and were married for 58 years. An educator all her life, Elissa with the help of her husband founded The Hill Top Preparator­y School in

Bryn Mawr, PA in 1971 as a school serving children with learning disabiliti­es. In 2022, Hill Top celebrated its 50th Anniversar­y. And today, Hill Top remains on the cutting edge of providing innovative approaches for students with learning difference­s to gain the self-confidence and academic skills necessary to succeed in college and afterwards.

Elissa is survived by her son William J. Fisher, daughter-in-law Cynthia L. Fisher, daughter Deborah A. McKenna and four grandchild­ren: Kelsey Fisher, Nicholas Fisher, Cana McKenna and Keely McKenna.
