The Morning Call (Sunday)

James A. Sedora

-

70 years of age and resident of Coplay, went home on Wednesday afternoon November 9, 2022 in his home. Jim battled cancer for over 10 years with dignity, grace, and

a positive attitude. Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late George and Julia (Slota) Sedora. His strong faith in his

Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the love of his family and constant friends, meant the world to him. He will be missed dearly and survived by his loving wife of over 49 years, Mary Lou (Sharkazy)

Sedora, his daughter, Jennifer Sedora (Sandy Fiorito), his son, Michael Sedora (Julie Sedora), his 3 grandsons, Gehrig, Jackson, and Dylan Sedora, his mother-in-law, Elda Sharkazy, and his brothers George, William, and John (Maryann) Sedora. In addition to his parents,

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved angel in heaven granddaughter, Matti Morgan Sedora. Jim provided for his family by working at Tarkett, Sappi Fine Paper, and Gardner Cryogenics until retiring in 2017, and proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1972 to 1978. Jim was a very active member at St. Peter Catholic Church in Coplay, and volunteered his time and service at numerous church suppers, pierogi making events, and the annual church picnic. He was a fitness buff and helped found

the Coplay Athletic Club Weight room in 1993. He also enjoyed walking and biking on the Ironton Rail Trail. Jim was a lover of animals, especially dogs, and looks forward to being reunited with his beloved Molly and Tink. He enjoyed life's simple pleasures, including breakfast on Tuesdays with the "Coplay Guys." Jim was an avid NY Yankees and Notre Dame fan but for him, absolutely nothing compared to watching his grandsons at their sporting events. Pops was one of their biggest fans and cheerleaders. He looks forward to watching them from above, with his Matti at his side, to see what great things they accomplish.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Msgr. David L. James on Wednesday

November 16, 2022 at 10:30 am in Saint Peter Catholic Church 4 South Fifth Street, Coplay, PA 18037. There will be no visitation prior to his Mass. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Parish Cemetery. For those who wish

to honor Jim with a memorial contribution, his family suggests a donation to St Peter Catholic Church at the address listed above, or be a good heart and donate blood in Jim’s honor.

The Gilbert Funeral Home of Whitehall is honored to handle his arrangements
