Sherman Theater to hold food drive
The Sherman Theater, 524 Main St., Stroudsburg, will hold a food drive to benefit the families in the Stroudsburg Area School District’s BackPack Program to Feed Hungry Kids. The food drive will be held through the Theater’s Horn O’ Plenty weekend Nov. 25 and 26 which features the bluegrass American band Railroad Earth. Donations of non-perishable food items can be made during shows or regular business hours at the Sherman Theater. An additional drop off location is Kitchen Chemistry, 733 Main St., Stroudsburg, during their regular business hours.
The food will benefit disadvantaged families with children in Stroudsburg schools. As part of the district’s BackPack Program to Feed Hungry Kids, food will be sent home with needy students to nourish the children and their families. The School District relies on donations from organizations, businesses, school employees and the community to maintain this program.
Suggested donations include granola bars, peanut butter or cheese cracker packs, rice, pasta, canned soup, canned vegetables and fruit, pasta sauce in plastic jars, pudding cups, other non-perishable food or grocery store gift cards.
