Bel Canto Youth Chorus singers selected for ACDA Honor Choir
Bel Canto Youth Chorus singers Cameron Dunham, Julia Sobrinski, and Matilda Snyder have been selected to sing in the 2023 American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) National Junior High/Middle School Honor Choir. The Honor Choir will sing at ACDA’s 2023 National Conference, which will be held Feb. 22-25 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Singers from grades 6 through 9 auditioned from across the country.
ACDA is a choral organization that works to “inspire excellence and nurture lifelong involvement in choral music for everyone through education, performance, composition and advocacy.” They hold conferences at the state, regional, and national level.
National level conferences are held annually. ACDA’s 2023 Nation Conference is titled, “A Place of Belonging.” The event will feature headline choirs such as The May Festival Chorus with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and the Jason Max Ferdinand Singers. There will also be a composer’s fair, insight choir sessions, conducting masterclasses, and much more.
The ACDA National Honor Choirs range from elementary to high school levels. The National Junior High School/ Middle School Honor Choir will be conducted by Andrea Ramsey.
