Abigail Skelly Fox
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Abigail Skelly Fox on November 14th. Abbi died with her loving husband at her side. Abbi is survived by her husband Jim, her daughter Beatrice and her son James.
Her mother is Jane
Pali of Bethlehem and her partner Frederick Cohane, and her father is Peter Skelly of Peterborough
New Hampshire. She had an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws, and her four-legged family consisting of Moose, Marty, and Eartha Kit and their buddy, Benny. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Louise Pali, and Dorothy and Jim Skelly.
Abbi attended Spring Garden Elementary
School, Moravian Academy Middle School and after gaining her senior year credits at Northampton Community College, she graduated in 2001 from Liberty High School
. She proceeded to obtain her Associates in Surgical Technology degree from Northampton Community College. Ultimately, in 2020 she supported her lifelong interest in caring about others , by graduating from DeSales University
with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Only weeks after graduation, Abbi had a melanoma removed from her leg. With a seven inch wound on her leg, she immediately began her proud nursing career in the Behavioral Health Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
Abby's family always came first in her life. With Jimmy, Bea and James, the dogs and cat, she created a wonderful, funny and unique family life. She loved spending time at the family cottage at
Lake Wallenpaupack, and time by the ocean in Florida and Mexico. Just watching the frogs in their little pond brought her enthusiasm and joy that she unabashedly shared with others, In mid-October, Abbi was diagnosed with stage four metastatic melanoma. It was an unusually aggressive strain of cancer, and she succumbed to it on November 14th.
Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Gathering which will be held on Sunday,
December 4th from 1-4 PM at the Se-Wy-Co Banquet Hall, 3621 Old Philadelphia Pike (route 378), Bethlehem, PA 18015.
