Gun violence out of control in US

Does anyone else see the irony of the front page Morning Call headlines on Monday, Nov. 21? “5 killed at Colorado gay club” and just below it, “Ceremony honors victims of violence.”

Let’s see now — go to a 4th of July parade in Illinois — get shot; go to a grocery store in Buffalo, New York — get shot — go on a class trip from college in Virginia — get shot; go to a nightclub in Colorado — get shot; and go to a Walmart in Maryland

— get shot. When is the American public going to wake up? Yes, guns don’t kill people. But, people with guns kill people. How I wish that there were some elected officials who will wake up and have the courage to do something about this horrible situation.
