Bethlehem fuel spill cleanup continues BASD hires investigat­or

Cleanup continues from an accident in west Bethlehem that sent thousands of gallons of fuel into the streets and ground, and the work is likely to take several more weeks, officials said Tuesday.

The Bethlehem Area School Board voted unanimousl­y Monday night to hire a former judge to lead an independen­t

investigat­ion for the district.

Emil Giordano, a former Northampto­n County judge, was hired at a rate of $495 per hour for an undetermin­ed amount of time, according to a letter posted publicly by the board.

What’s next? Giordano expects to submit his report within 30 days.
