Slate Belt Rising is seeking volunteers for three subcommitt­ees –Quality, Affordable Housing; Vibrant Economic Climate; Regional Cooperatio­n and Community Engagement. Slate Belt Rising, a subsidiary of Community Action Lehigh Valley, is a community revitaliza­tion initiative serving the boroughs of Bangor, Pen Argyl, Portland, and Wind Gap. In the coming months, the organizati­on will begin implementa­tion for projects in a new six-year community plan. Minimum age 18 or 16 with adult. Northeast Community Center in Bethlehem needs assistance with food pickups from Second Harvest Food Bank 9:30-11 a.m. on Wednesday mornings. Transport boxes in your vehicle to NECC and help to unload boxes into their food pantry. COVID vaccine card and a criminal background clearance required. Keystone Family Alliance has an online portal that connects volunteers to the material needs of vulnerable children and families in their area. Easily get involved with Keystone Family Alliance and receive a daily email stating the needs of local families (i.e., diapers, pajamas, a crib, etc.). Purchase items requested. to assist visually impaired clients during centerbase­d and community-based programs.
