Nancy L. (Marsh) Shoemaker

Nancy L. Shoemaker, 76, of Walnutport, formerly of Lehighton, was stricken at home and passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethlehem. Nancy and her husband, Jay R. Shoemaker, would have celebrated 58 years of marriage on February 27th. Born in Danielsville, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Roma (Weaver) Marsh. Nancy attended Northampton High School and graduated from Liberty High School. She retired in 2013 from the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21 where she worked as an aide and later as a bus driver. Prior to that, Nancy was a member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union and was employed at various garment factories in the region for 40 years. Although she enjoyed quilting, sewing and knitting in her spare time, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she adored. Nancy was an active member and volunteer at St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Indianland.

Jay, she will be dearly missed by her daughters, Mercedas Hamersly and fiancé, Adam Lauser, of Coplay, Marie Passaro and husband, Robert, of Allentown, and Michelle Walker and husband, Wayne, of Cleveland, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Brandon, Travis, Matthew, Jaylee, and Jordan; and two great-granddaughters, Emmersyn and Dawsyn. She was predeceased by a stillborn grandson, Stuart Walker.

Services: A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Indianland,

787 Almond Road, Walnutport, PA 18088.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday morning from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00

A.M. in the church. Interment will be private. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Indianland.
