Assist with literacy activities in a kindergart­en or first grade classroom in the Allentown School District one hour per week or more. Clearances and attendance at an orientatio­n session required. The next orientatio­n of the 2022-23 school year is hosted by Allentown School District Foundation and will be held 1-2 p.m. Feb. 21 at Hays Elementary School. Pre-registrati­on required by Feb. 20. Volunteeri­ng at the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor is a great way to learn more about local history, stay active on the D&L Trail, and/or meet new people at community events.

Flint Hill Farm needs a person or persons who are skilled in carpentry and painting to make horse run-in sheds ready for the spring. Each shed at Flint Hill Farm Educationa­l Center is only one story and easily accessible with a small step ladder. Zoo Volunteer Program. Located in Schnecksvi­lle, LV Zoo is open all year from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. November-March and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April-October. They need volunteers to help further their mission of conservati­on and education as a docent, crafts & activities volunteer, Zoo Clean team member, or other positions. Minimum age 13. Miller-Keystone Blood Center has many volunteer opportunit­ies available throughout the communitie­s it serves and at its donor centers in Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton. Great opportunit­y for companies, groups, families, or individual­s to volunteer

for The Salvation Army Children’s Services’ Rock N Run 5K, 10K, and Kids’ Fun Run May 13 at Coca-Cola Park. Have a blast while helping children impacted by foster care. Looking for a fun and engaging activity with

friends? Why not become a Zoellner Arts Center volunteer usher?

Volunteer on a show-to-show basis, mostly nights and weekends. Responsibi­lities include greeting patrons, scanning tickets, assisting patrons to their seats, and being trained on the center’s safety and evacuation protocols.
