Carl W. Wertman

Carl W. Wertman, 83 years, of New Tripoli, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown. He was the widower of Gloria J. (Solt) Wertman.

Born in New Tripoli, he was the son of the late William J.S. and Perma (Bennighoff) Wertman.

Carl was a dispatcher at East Penn Trucking Co. for many years and prior to that he worked for the former Trojan Powder Co. and General Electric. He was a member of several local Fire Companies, a member of the Lynn-Heidelberg Historical Society and a member of the JOUAM Lodge #204 in New Tripoli. Carl was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ in New Tripoli and was on the Ebenezer Cemetery Assoc. for many years.

Carl enjoyed antiques, working around his house and the family farm, spending time with his friends going to auctions and the Kempton Hotel and loved being with his family.

Survivors: children, Michael C. Wertman (Kelly) of New Tripoli, Sharon L. Lotwick of New Tripoli and Lori A. Hegedus (Charles) of Allentown; grandchildren, Jason Christman, Nicole

Melnick, Tyler Terleski, Hudson and Harrison Wertman; great grandchildren, Peyton and Teagen Christman, and Dylan Melnick; several nieces and nephews.

Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, March 10 at Ebenezer U.C.C., 7293 Decatur St., New Tripoli. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the Church. Interment, Church Cemetery.
