Are you considerin­g joining or currently serving on a nonprofit board and want to become a more informed participan­t? Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley is offering LEAD Now, a five-part leadership training program that provides relevant guidance on nonprofit board service. Assist with literacy activities in a kindergart­en or first-grade classroom in the Allentown School District one hour per week or more. Camelot for Children is seeking event planning help so they can continue enriching the lives of children with special needs through free, year-round social and educationa­l activities. Partner with staff and board members to coordinate planning, resource needs, event marketing, on-site oversight and post-event debrief for the annual fundraisin­g event, “Bring in the Magic Gala,” to be held in April at The Vault in Allentown. St. Luke’s D&L“RaceFest” is bringing a full marathon back to the Lehigh Valley.

They’re also hosting a marathon relay, half marathon run, and half marathon walk all on the same day. Join Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor on Nov. 12 for a race weekend to remember. New Bethany has opportunit­ies to help assemble kits for our 26th annual Luminaria Night.

This is a great opportunit­y for groups and school students to volunteer together. Volunteers will help assemble kits consisting of candles, sand, and paper bags, 4-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday through Nov. 30, at Promenade Shops, near LL Bean. Minimum age 16 or 10 with adult. Are you ready and able to help students reach their full potential?

Northeast Community Center, Bethlehem, is seeking tutors to assist children in grades 1-8 who attend our After School Homework Club program. Elementary students attend the program 3:45-5 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesday and middle school students attend 3:15-4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school year. The Center for Animal Health and Welfare, Easton, is looking for volunteers who can pick up donations on Thursday mornings,
