Anita J. Harris

Anita Jean Harris, 69, of Lower Nazareth Twp., returned to the Lord peacefully on December 10th, 2023, while surrounded by her loving family.

Anita was born on July 15, 1954, to parents Stephen and Olga Danko in Ebervale,

PA. She attended

St. Mary's School and graduated from Berwick High School in 1972. After earning her bachelor's degree from Misericord­ia University in 1976, she went on to work as a Food Services Director and Dietitian at Weatherwoo­d Nursing Home where she met her dedicated husband, Hugh. She continued her dietetic career while working for MW Wood Food Service and Sodexo at Gracedale Nursing Home, Muhlenberg Hospital and various other Lehigh Valley Hospitals. Combining her love of baseball and career in Food Service, she worked for the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs for 10 years as a Stand Manager.

A devoted mother to two boys, Anita served her local community as Teacher's Aide at Nazareth Area School District. She never missed the opportunit­y to cheer her sons on at their sporting events.

Anita was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Bath where she served on several ministries and volunteere­d for her husband's church, Dryland UCC in Lower Nazareth. Anita was a selfless individual that was always looking out for those around her.

Anita is preceded in death by her parents Stephen and Olga Danko.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years,

Hugh W.; oldest son Hugh S., his significan­t other, Tiffany, and Tiffany's daughter, Camryn of Kingston, PA; Adam and significan­t other, Kristina of Camp Hill, PA; sisters Stephanie and her spouse Stephen Zamorski of Berlin, NJ, and Joyce Danko of Berwick.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December

22, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Joseph F. Reichel Funeral Home Inc., 220 Washington Park, Nazareth, PA 18064. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 210 E. Northampto­n St. Bath, PA 18014. A luncheon will proceed after Mass at the Holy Family Club “The Phoenix” 515 W. Mauch Chunk St. Nazareth. An interment will take place on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Union Cemetery, 2593 S. Lehigh Gorge Dr. Weatherly, PA, 18255. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to “Sacred Heart Church” in her honor, please mail donations to 210 E. Northampto­n St. Bath PA 18014. The Joseph F. Reichel Funeral Home Inc., of Nazareth is honored to have Anita and her family under our care and direction.
