Western Kentucky: The Hilltopper­s have appeared in five straight bowl games.

Old Dominion: The Monarchs will be playing in their third bowl game since moving up to FBS and second in three years under coach Ricky Rahne. They are 1-1.

UTSA: Second appearance in Frisco Bowl, fifth bowl appearance overall.

Marshall: First Frisco bowl and 19th bowl appearance overall. Thundering Herd is 13-5 in previous bowl games.

South Florida: 6-4 lifetime and seeking its first win since the 2017 Birmingham Bowl. Syracuse: 16-10-1 all-time and had won its last four appearance­s before falling to Minnesota in last year’s Pinstripe Bowl.

Georgia Tech: Seeking its first bowl win since beating Kentucky 33-18 in the 2016 TaxSlayer Bowl. The Jackets lost 34-10 to Minnesota in 2018 Quick Lane Bowl.

UCF: 6-8 in bowls and seeks its first win since topping Florida in 2021 Gasparilla Bowl.

Troy: Has won five straight bowl games and is making its 10th bowl appearance since moving to FBS in 2001. First Birmingham Bowl appearance.

Duke: 7-8 in bowl games but has won its last four. First appearance in Birmingham Bowl.

Arkansas St.: Is 8-8-1 in bowl games and making its third appearance in the Camellia Bowl (1-1).

Northern Illinois: Making 15th bowl trip (4-10) and 12th since 2008.

James Madison: Transition­ing from FCS and playing in its first bowl.

Air Force: Making its record seventh appearance in the bowl game and is 15-13-1 lifetime. The Falcons beat Baylor 30-15 in last year’s game.

Georgia St.: First appearance in Potato Bowl, sixth time in the postseason in program history.

Utah State: Fifth appearance in Potato Bowl, 17th bowl trip in school history.

South Alabama: Making fourth bowl appearance and first in consecutiv­e seasons; 0-3 in bowl games.

Eastern Michigan: Played in Mobile’s bowl game in 2021, losing 56-20 to Liberty.

Utah: Headed to a bowl game for the 17th time under coach Kyle Whittingha­m and will play in Las Vegas Bowl for the sixth time.

Northweste­rn: Wildcats making their first bowl appearance since 2021 Citrus Bowl. Coastal Carolina: First appearance in Hawaii Bowl, fourth bowl game in school history. San Jose St.: First appearance in Hawaii Bowl, 13th bowl game in program history.

Bowling Green: 5-8 lifetime and looks to end a two-game slide with its first win since beating South Alabama 33-28 in Camellia Bowl.

Minnesota: 11-12 overall but has won its last six bowl appearance­s.

Texas St.: Making its first bowl appearance despite being eligible in 2013 and ’14 after joining Sun Belt Conference.

Rice: Seeks its first win since beating Fresno State 30-6 in the 2014 Hawaii Bowl.

Kansas: 6-7 all-time in bowls.

UNLV: 3-1 in their bowl history.

Kansas beat UNLV 46-24 in 2003 to even the series at a game each.

Virginia Tech: This is Hokies’ 35th bowl appearance in program history.

Tulane: The Green Wave are in a bowl for the fifth time in six years and 16th overall. Last year, Tulane stunned USC in Cotton Bowl.

UNC: This will be the program’s 38th bowl game and fifth in as many seasons during the second tenure of coach Mack Brown.

West Virginia: This is the Mountainee­rs’ 40th bowl appearance overall.

Louisville: 12-12-1 all-time in bowl games and has won two of its last three bowl trips. USC: Making its 57th all-time bowl appearance and its fourth in Holiday Bowl, all coming in the last 10 years.

Texas A&M: Fourth appearance in Texas Bowl, 43rd bowl game in school history. Oklahoma St.: Second appearance in Texas Bowl, 34th overall bowl game and 18th straight.

SMU: First appearance in the Fenway Bowl, 20th bowl appearance overall. Boston College: First appearance in the hometown Fenway Bowl, 28th bowl appearance overall.

Rutgers: Third appearance in Pinstripe Bowl, 12th bowl appearance overall. Miami: Second appearance in Pinstripe Bowl, 45th bowl appearance overall.

North Carolina St.: Sixth appearance in bowl at Camping World Stadium; 35th bowl appearance overall.

Kansas St.: First appearance Pop-Tarts Bowl, 25th bowl appearance overall.

Arizona: 2nd appearance in Alamo Bowl, 22nd bowl appearance overall. Last bowl win was in 2015.

Oklahoma: 2nd appearance in Alamo Bowl, 57th bowl appearance overall.

Clemson: This is Clemson’s 10th all-time trip to Gator Bowl, winning games there to close the 1948, 1978, 1986 and 1989 seasons.

Kentucky: This is The Wildcats’ third trip to Gator Bowl, all coming since 2016.

Oregon St.: Third appearance in Sun Bowl, 20th bowl appearance in school history.

Notre Dame: Second appearance in Sun Bowl, 42nd bowl appearance overall.

Memphis: 10th straight bowl bid is longest current streak among non-Power Five teams and ninth-longest overall.

Iowa State: Making sixth bowl trip in seven seasons and 18th overall (5-12).

Missouri: Fourth appearance in Cotton Bowl, 36th bowl game in school history.

Ohio St.: Third appearance in Cotton Bowl, program’s 56th bowl game.

Mississipp­i: The Rebels will play their third Peach Bowl in their third venue.

Penn St.: The Nittany Lions are 31-19-2 in bowl games, including a 35-21 win over Utah in Rose Bowl following last season.

Auburn: Making its 47th bowl appearance and third in Music City Bowl, seeking first bowl win since beating Purdue 63-14 in 2018 game in Nashville.

Maryland: First Music City Bowl appearance and 30th bowl game overall.

Georgia: Fifth appearance in Orange Bowl, 62nd bowl game in school history. Florida St.: 11th appearance in Orange Bowl, 49th bowl game in school history.

Toledo: First appearance in Arizona Bowl, and 21st bowl in school history.

Wyoming: Third Arizona Bowl appearance, and 19th bowl overall.

Wisconsin: This is Wisconsin’s 35th bowl game and 22nd straight bowl bid.

LSU: This is the program’s 55th bowl appearance and second under coach Brian Kelly. LSU has won four of its last five bowl games.

Liberty. The Flames are in their fifth straight bowl game since becoming a full Division I member in 2018. Liberty is 3-1 in bowl games.

Oregon: The Ducks will play in their 19th straight bowl game and are 16-20 all-time.

Iowa: This is Iowa’s 36th bowl appearance and third in Citrus Bowl.

Tennessee: This is Tennessee’s 56th bowl appearance, including a win in 2020 Gator Bowl that was later vacated due to NCAA sanctions.
