Dolores A (Sanderson) Heller
Dolores A. Heller, nee Dolores Ann Sanderson, loving wife and mother, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024, at her home in Allentown, PA. She was 92.
Dolores was born in Paducah, KY on Feb 7, 1932. As a young girl her family relocated to Nashville, TN, where Dolores spent most of her early and junior and senior high school years. She loved country music and attended shows at the Grand Ole Opry as a girl. After marrying a young New Yorker named Irwin in 1955, she was whisked away to New York City and began her life as a North Easterner. After giving birth to her two sons, the young family moved to Delaware County PA, where Dolores raised her two boys and began a long family tradition of digging them out of trouble.
Dolores was a history buff, being well versed in Civil War era and early American history. She loved the richness of Philadephia history and tradition, and was an avid collector of antique furntiure and memoriablia. Dolores loved a good flea market before anyone knew what flea market was. And she visited and could tell you the history of just about every Civil or Revolutionary War monument in the region.
After her boys were grown and finally out of her hair, Dolores and Irwin relocated to West Palm Beach, FL, where they spent a few sunny and relaxing years until Irwin's passing in 2003. Shortly thereafter, Dolores returned to her adopted home of Eastern PA, this time to the beautiful Lehigh Valley. She lived in West Allentown from about 2007 to the time of her passing, just this year.
Dolores is remembered by her family and friends as a caring, loving individual, and a beacon of hope and light. Dolores is survived by her two sons, and her baby brother, and many loving cousins and nieces and nephews. Dolores had a way of touching the soul of every individual she met, and will be dearly missed.
