Goldie M. (Rupp) Ritter
Goldie M. Ritter, 85 years, of Lehigh Center, Macungie, formerly of Allentown, went to sing with Jesus on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at
Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest. She was the widow of Carl R.
Ritter. Born in 1933 on the family farm in Seipstown, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and
Verna (Sechler) Rupp.
She graduated from the former South Whitehall High School and went on to graduate from the Joyce
Art Beauty School. Goldie worked in the Wegman's
Floral Department for 6 years. Prior to that, she worked in the Parkland School District cafeteria, and prior to that she was a grocer for the family owned business in Allentown. She attended Faith Evangelical Free Church in Trexlertown. Goldie acted and sang in MunOpCo Opera Company with shows “Singing in the Rain”,
“Meet Me in St. Louis”, “Swing”, and “Christmas”; the Senior Center Community Chorus; the Jacksonville Summer Theater – “Music Man”; was a hand model for the Sweetwater Film, New York “Earl and Puppy”; church choirs; and the Paul W. Folklore Group; volunteered at Ironton Elementary School for 10 years; and also volunteered at the Allentown Lehigh Valley Hospital in the gift shop for many years.
Survivors: daughter, Cindy Ritter of Allentown; and brother, Fred Rupp of Kuhnsville. She was predeceased by brothers Herman and Ira Rupp and sisters Margaret Sassaman, Mildred Rodenbach, Carolyn Rauch and Leah Ziegler.
Services: 11:00 AM on Monday, November 12 in the
Faith Evangelical Free Church, 6528 Hamilton Blvd., Allentown, PA 18106. Visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment in Ziegels Church Cemetery, Breinigsville. Keller Funeral Homes, Inc. is handling arrangements. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.KellerFuneralHomes.com.
