Violette (Torcivia) Auteri, of Doylestown, PA died peacefully at Doylestown Hospital on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 with her family by her side. She was 90.

She was the beloved wife of 53 years to the late Dr. Salvatore F. Auteri.

Born in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence Giacalone Torcivia.

Violette was a woman of great determinat­ion and perseveran­ce. In addition to raising five children, she was a teacher, reading specialist, and acting principal in the Central Bucks School District, as well as an adjunct professor at Arcadia University. She received her bachelor's degree from Hunter College in NYC, and a master's and doctorate in education from Temple University. Supporting her family and encouragin­g them to follow their dreams was a motivating factor in her life. This was made evident in her desire to move to PA so that Sal could follow his dream of becoming a doctor.

She was the devoted mother and grandmothe­r of Dr. Anthony G. Auteri, his wife Lisa and their children Gabriel (Rachel), Jonah (Katherine) and Zachary, Maria T. Abissi, her husband Mark and their children Frank (fiancée Gretchen) and Giavanna, Dr. Joseph S. Auteri, his wife Maia and their children Benjamin (fiancée Claire), Peter and Jack, Andrew F. Auteri, his wife

Teresa and their children, Heather (Joseph), Nicole, Amanda (Greg), Matthew (Kayla) and Emily, and Theresa Kentopp, her husband Thomas and their children, Colton and Catherine. She is also survived by her four great-grandchild­ren; Rose, Riley, Milana, and Madeleine and a sister-in-law, Rose Auteri.

Her family will receive relatives and friends from 5:007:00 PM on Sunday, November 11, 2018 and on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 9:00 AM until her Funeral Service at 10:30 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. Her interment will be held privately by the family in Our Lady of Czestochow­a Shrine Cemetery, Doylestown.
