Hart shows big league skill

Rookie goalie registers 25 saves in helping to beat Belleville in home match at PPL Center.

Carter Hart is almost certain to earn a call-up to the Philadelph­ia Flyers sooner or later.

And with the way he's played in recent games, his cell phone could be ringing very soon.

Hart put on another outstandin­g performanc­e in the Phantoms' 4-1 win over Belleville on Friday night at PPL Center. The 20-year-old rookie registered 25 saves, including several stops that wowed the home crowd of 6,397.

Carsen Twarynski scored two goals while Greg Carey and Connor Bunnaman added one apiece for the Phantoms, which led 1-0 after the first period and 3-1 after the second. TJ Brennan and Chris Conner had two assists each.

Lehigh Valley improved to 15-8-1-1 overall in the AHL's Atlantic Division and split its four-game homestand.

Hart's only 16 games into his profession­al career but he's already making his mark with coach Scott Gordon's Phantoms.
