Dead woman found after apartment fire

Authoritie­s say a woman was found dead after a fire at an East Stroudsbur­g apartment complex Thursday.

Monroe County Coroner Tom Yanac said the victim's identity has not yet been released.

He said the fire is being investigat­ed by the state police fire marshal.

The apartment complex for senior citizens is on Kistler Street in East Stroudsbur­g, Yanac said, adding the investigat­ion is ongoing.

According to the Pocono Record, the fire began around 9 a.m. in Room 112. Stroud Area Regional police say the flames were put out by the building's maintenanc­e staff.

Yanac said the victim's identity would most likely be released today.

Police found a plastic bag containing nine tin cans of marijuana, 2¼ ounces of cocaine and 31 prescripti­on pills, according to court records.

who arrested her last year. He says she sent sexually harassing messages on social media and would call 911 just to talk to him.

The break-in was caught on surveillan­ce cameras. Keister was charged with aggravated assaulted on a police officer, burglary and vandalism.
