Tickets, $50, do not include tax and gratuity. Info: thedimeallentown.com. will they know we’re here, and how long will it take to get waited on?”
Luckily, the answer was not terribly long, but with the dining room arrangement, a host or even a “please wait to be seated by a waiter” policy would alleviate the issue.
Our food came out quickly, and our waitress checked on our table throughout our meal, but unfortunately, she twice forgot to bring water to our table. Toward the end of our stay, another waitress informed us that our server went home sick, a detail I could’ve gone without knowing after eating, or at all.
Bottom line: The Horse Tavern & Grill, now in its 262nd year, has stayed relevant with a great beer list and food that goes from typical pub grub to new takes on Philly classics. Lunch for two, with a tea and a beer, totaled $32.57 with tax.
