Free comic convention returns to the South Mall
This weekend, the South Mall will be filled with characters.
Itz A Con, the free comic convention, comes to the mall on the Salisbury Township/Allentown border from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, featuring cosplayers, tons of special guests, contests, collectibles and more.
Here’s just a brief rundown on what you’ll find:
Special guests include: James Collins Jr., an actor who has appeared in “Orange is the New Black,” “Difficult People” and “The Mystery Of The Golden Charm” and more; Marvel / DC artist Rich Perotta; and Johnny Cubez, a Rubik’s cube speed-solver.
Cosplayers attending include: Annie Christ, Steampunk Batman & Robin, Dame Dahlia, The Finest - GI JOE Cosplay Group, NMR Cosplay.
Special events include a special guest/cosplay panel with a Q &A and hair/makeup demonstrations. More than 30 vendors will be on hand, selling everything from original comic art and commissions to pop culture signature items, including toys, plushs, vintage and collectible items, comic books and novels, posters, and more.
At 3 p.m. both days, you can take part in a cosplay contest, and the event will wrap up with a new Cosplay Line Dance, where people in and out of character can come out and "Cha-Cha Slide" or do the "Cupid Shuffle" in their favorite cosplay.
