Freddy shows continue

The 17th annual Freddy Awards shows continue this weekend, with three musicals at area high schools.

Thirty schools are putting on shows this year.

The Freddys program was created by Easton's State Theatre to recognize excellence in high school musical theater.

Participat­ing are schools in Lehigh and Northampto­n counties, and Warren County, N.J. Plays are presented and judged in March and April to compete in the Freddys.

The finale is a live, Tony Awards-style event 7 p.m. May 23 at the State Theatre; it's broadcast live on WFMZ Channel 69.
