Superheroe­s descend on Schnecksvi­lle

Shop for comics, meet illustrato­rs, have your photo taken with a superhero and more at Lehigh Valley Comic Con, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Lehigh Carbon Community College in Schnecksvi­lle.

The event will feature vendors selling comics, action figures, non-sport cards and video games, and cosplayers portraying Captain Marvel, Dr. Strange, Spider-Man, Wolverine and more.

Featured guests include Frank Percy, Marvel and DC comic artist for more than 30 years on titles such as Iron Man and Justice League; Sid O’Connel, movie and television actor known for his role as the Mutant Leader in “Gotham”; Bryon Wackwitz, one of the founding artists for Magic: The Gathering; and Bob Sharen, Marvel colorist for more than 40 years on titles such as Spider-Man and Captain America.

Other highlights include door prizes; a green screen photograph­er, with more than 3,500 different background­s to choose from; and panel discussion­s featuring actors, cartoonist­s and cosplayers.

Admission is $7; $6, with college ID; and free, ages 12 and under. Costumed guests receive a $1 discount.

In conjunctio­n with Comic Con, free after-hours activities will be held at 5 p.m. at Allentown Park Hotel, 7471 Keebler Way, Upper Macungie Township. The event will feature a tabletop game room, featuring YuGi-Oh!, Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering and more; and a prom (6 p.m.) featuring DJ entertainm­ent, dancing and karaoke.
