Take time to appreciate the beauty around us

The Morning Call - - TOWN SQUARE -

In the busyness of our lives, do we ever take time to appreciate the beauty around us? Emerson told us, “Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything that is beautiful, for beauty is God’s handwriting — a wayside sacrament.”

Yes, the appreciation of beauty is a gift of God; we only have to accept it. Who can deny the beauty of a magnificent sunrise or of an amber sunset — flowers in all their array of majestic colors — the crescent waves of the ocean — the glorious strains of melodious music — the list is really endless.

The wonders of nature itself are free to anyone who will take the time to enjoy them. Ponder the appreciation of the beauty of religion and our God-given right to worship as we please.

The Babe born in Bethlehem, God’s beloved Son — the wonderment of Moses’ parting the Red Sea. There is beauty in all of God’s creation — and, as the old adage states, “Stop and smell the roses.”
